Shopping Copilot Privacy Policy

Shopping Copilot is a browser extension that helps shoppers evaluate product listings on supported shopping sites (Amazon, AliExpress, Etsy, and Walmart). This page explains what data the extension collects, how it is used, and what it is not used for.

What data we collect

• Page content from supported shopping sites. When you open the extension on a supported product page, it reads the product title, price, images, seller name, and visible customer reviews directly from that page in order to run fake-review detection, AI summarization, price-history lookup, dropshipping-likelihood checks, and influencer/affiliate signal detection. This data is sent to our backend API solely to generate that analysis and is not stored beyond what is needed to return a result.
• Approximate location (country). The extension performs an IP-based country lookup (via a third-party geo-IP service) to suggest additional region-specific shopping sites you may want to enable. We do not collect precise GPS location.
• Local settings. The backend URL you configure and your detected region are stored locally in your browser via the extension storage API. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us except as part of the requests described above.

What we do not collect

We do not collect personally identifiable information, health information, financial or payment information, authentication credentials, personal communications, your browsing history, or activity such as keystrokes, clicks, or mouse movement.

How we use data

Data extracted from a product page is used only to power the analysis features described above. We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties outside of providing the extension's features, we do not use the data for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose, and we do not use the data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
